California Performing Arts Foundation was founded to support the development and production of new original material. We dare take chances on new perfomances and new talent.
Mission Statement
At California Performing Arts Foundtion we believe that performing arts are a vital aspect of culture and society, serving as a powerful medium for expression, communication,
and connection. They foster creativity and encourage individuals to explore their emotions and perspectives, promoting empathy and understanding among diverse audiences.
Through disciplines such as theater, dance, and music, performing arts challenge social norms and provoke critical thought, offering commentary on the human experience.
Additionally, they provide a communal space where people can gather, share stories, and celebrate cultural heritage, reinforcing community bonds. By nurturing creativity
and facilitating dialogue, the performing arts enrich our lives, inspire social change, and contribute significantly to the overall well-being of individuals and communities alike.
KINGS - The Musical is the first self-produced performance by the California Performing Arts Foundation. This engaging production brings to life the inspiring stories of Martin Luther King Jr. and his wife, Coretta Scott King,
who played crucial roles in the civil rights movement. Set against the transformative backdrop of the 1950s and '60s, the musical powerfully depicts their brave fight against systemic racism and their relentless push for landmark
legislation, such as the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965, which profoundly changed the lives of millions of African Americans.

The first project is Stories of Innocence, hightligting the hundreds of wrongfully convicted people that have been exonerated, with the goal of bringing focus on the thousands of innocent people that are still incarcerated. Artists are invited to bring their own perspective to each theme, through an original song donated to the project. Other projects in the works are "Stories of Grief", and "Stories of Survival".
